The Shell Eco-Marathon competition brings together engineering students from across North America to design and build ultra fuel efficient vehicles. While a student at Dalhousie University, I participated in the project for three years and was the team captain during my final year.
Projects I completed:
Design of Urban Concept vehicle drive train
Performed calculations to determine required gear ratio, shaft diameters, and chain size
Designed two stage gear reduction to transfer power to drive wheels
Designed engine mounting plate for water-jet cutting
Designed a foam negative for carbon fiber body
Wrote a Matlab script to process dynamometer testing data to generate torque and power curves that improved fuel consumption
Helped mentor new members and coordinated team projects
